Big Last Minute Ideas (Salvage Preorder Bonus)

science fiction new releases

Art by Julie Dillon.I chose July to re-release Salvage in its exciting, newly edited, freshly re-cover-arted second edition! Under the original publisher, things didn't really get off the ground for Book Two of the Peridot Shift. Barely anyone knew it was out there! I'm hoping that's been corrected now, though I got caught up in a lot of dayjob stuff and didn't get to promote it as hard as I'd intended to. I'm hoping that by at least really getting Flotsam out there for promotion, that there will be lots of new readers looking forward to finding out what happens next for our crew. And the day is almost here! Salvage releases on Tuesday, July 5!

(Holy crap, that's this Tuesday!)

I am the type of person who comes up with ideas when there is no possible time to complete them under my current workload. That's true of new novel ideas (but just wait till I get to write that magical girls + mushroom network + Dead Space novel!), and it's true of other creative ideas as well. But I'm going to push myself to get this one into production soon, because I'm really excited about it:

In Salvage, you're going to meet Kirna, a Rakkar alchemist who may be one of my favorite characters in all of Peridot. She is an absolute gift, and she comes up with a particular sigil that does some important work at a critical time.

...And I think we can all relate to needing a sigil to guard us against the worst that can happen.

I don't want to say too much (spoilers), but I have a new Cricut maker my family got me for my birthday earlier this year, and I'm hoping to make Kirna's alchemical sigil into a necklace. I have confirmed that my idea is possible on the maker, I just have to gather the materials and do a few test runs.

So between now and Monday night (I know, that is not a lot of time, such is the way of ideas presenting themselves to me!), if you forward your pre-order receipt (or a photo of your printed pre-order receipt) to , along with your mailing address, you will receive one of Kirna's necklaces! (...Once I make them, which should give you time to read the book and find out just how valuable this sigil can be.)

Sorry for the last minute call, but I hope it's enough fun that makes up for it!

(If you come to this late but you preordered the book, as long as you show you preordered it, and my Cricut still works, I'll honor this promise!)
