Lightspeed Magazine science fiction Industry Recognition Tor.com

Shit, friends, I don't even know how to make an announcement about this.

Co-written with the magnificent and wonderful Maurice Broaddus, "Singing the Ancient Out of the Dark," (Lightspeed Magazine Issue 146, July 2022) has been recognized by reviewer Alex Brown in their "Must-Read Speculative Short Fiction for July 2022" article on Tor.com.

Gimme a minute please.

I am not okay. This is a major writing career Bingo card moment. There was no shortage of incredible work published in the SF&F field (there always is, and July was absolutely no exception) and somehow our piece was tapped as one of just ten recommended by a reviewer from a publication that sets a lot of standards in the field.

Hot dang. Huge thanks to Lightspeed for picking up the story, to Alex Brown for reading and recommending it, and, of course, to Maurice for being such an easy and awesome person with whom to bounce ideas back and forth. And thanks to anyone who subscribes to Lightspeed, bought that issue, or read the story and shared the link with a friend when it went online for free!
